Important News from Skinergize

As our community reopens, plans are on-going at Skinergize. The health and safety of my clients, myself and our families are of the utmost importance for re-opening and your visit.

As a CA Licensed Esthetician, I have always owned and operated Skinergize under the laws governed by the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.  I now have new boards and laws to operate by during COVID-19 and their specific guidelines, those agencies include, Contra Costa Health Services, CDC guidelines, and the California Department of Public Health.

Many of you have asked me when will I start opening up for facials and skin peels again?  Per our Contra Costa County (CCC) Estheticians can open on July 15th (subject to any changes by our State and CCC).

In the meantime, I want to thank all of you for your support since March 17th.  Many of you have purchased products using the porch pick-ups and that has carried me through re-investing in my business to keep it safe when I reopen.

Some of those items purchased are shown in the picture, Medical Masks, Shields, IR Thermometer, Gloves and those not pictured include hand sanitizers, touchless hand soap/sanitizer dispensers, touchless hampers, trash cans, new EPA approved products to disinfect called Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL) as used in dental offices to spray all chairs, doorknobs, faucets, products, basically, my entire office and restroom, as I also purchased a fogger to spray a fine mist over everything, new Hepa filter vacuum, I already had a Hepa filter Air Purifier, so I'll keep that running.  I have plans to purchase new bedding options and whatever else these agencies require or recommend.

With all of these new steps to be in compliance, I'll be re-opening slowly, and starting with scheduling 2 clients a day, then hopefully, as time goes on, getting back up to 3 per day.  I was seeing 3-4 clients a day prior to COVID-19.  This has been a journey for all of us.  I continue to stay connected with Esthetician Facebook groups finding out new things to bring in and stay informed.

I hope you understand that with all of these new guidelines to follow, my practice will change becoming more clinical and addressing your skin concerns.  I will be updating my service menu to reflect those new changes and sending out new policy guidelines.  I am also working on a new website on Shopify for purchasing Face Reality Products.  This was a huge undertaking for me!

With all of this work done and more ahead, I am planning to reopen by late July or early August.  I know it sounds so far away, but I will need to make sure everything is in place and would like to take a vacation with my family.  I'm going to start with rescheduling those who were scheduled to come in when COVID-19 started.  I have a list of client's confirmed appointments.  If you are not ready to come in yet, please, I understand and refusal is o.k.

After staying at home, we all deserve some time to rejuvenate!  In the meantime, stay healthy!  Call me, or email me with any questions.

Thank you,

Linda Riggs-Licensed Esthetician

Retinol Our Fountain of Youth

January 22nd, 2018 • Posted by Retinol Our Fountain of Youth • Permalink

Retinol is great for normalizing our skin's cell growth cycle. As we get older, our skin's cell growth cycle can slow down, so by adding Retinol to our regimen, this will lead our skin to the final stage of sloughing-off dead skin cells. Once our dead skin cells are shed, our skin will look and feel fresher. IMAGE Skincare Retinols are a Vitamin A derivative, and although it is not a pharmaceutical Retinoid better known as Retin-A, IMAGE Retinols are gentler than a Retinoid and can be used my most people without irritation. IMAGE Retinol will help normalize our skin cell cycles leading it to reveal fresher skin and minimize the appearance of large pores, fine lines and wrinkles.
Retinol also stimulates collagen and elastin production, improves firmness, fades hyperpigmentation (dark uneven skin tone/spots) and helps with certain types of Acne. It is imperative however to use a daily sunscreen of at least SPF 30. Retinol will make you more sun sensitve, and as you are doing something good for your skin, you can cause damage such as sun spots or sunburns if you do not protect it with sunscreen.
Two of my favorite Retinols are IMAGE Skincare AGELESS Total Overnight Retinol Mask and the AGELESS Total Repair Creme.

Top 3 Reasons to Get a Facial

July 11th, 2017 • Posted by SKINERGIZE • Permalink

Who doesn't like receiving a relaxing facial? There are many reasons why it is enjoyable to melt into the Esthetician chair, however, facials are also an essential part to having radiant skin. We have three reasons why everyone should come in to experience this one-of-a-kind treatment.

Cleansing

For starters, a facial gives your skin a deep cleaning. Think of all the things your skin comes into contact with in a day. From outdoor pollutants to makeup, it can all build up. A facial gets rid of dead skin, and impurities bringing out your natural skin tone. Plus, it keeps your pores from making too much oil.  Balancing your skin's oil production, can help reduce breakouts. The exfoliation process also helps your skin stay firm and tight, keeping those wrinkles at bay.

Stress relieving

It's not a coincidence that you feel refreshed after a facial. Not only do facials exfoliate and moisturize your skin, the treatments also increase blood flow and promote circulation. For many women, taking a few minutes to get a facial is "me time," a time to relax and forget about work, life's challenges, and home duties. The whole treatment is a stress reliever.

Age-fighting

Routine facials can help fight wrinkles, but there are certain additions you can tack on to help your skin stay wrinkle free.  Advanced treatments such as Peels, Microdermabrasion and products that contain plant-derived stem cells, retinols and peptides are known to stimulate and promote collagen growth, which keeps your skin from sagging.  The new Biomolecular Sheet Masks help with hydration and pigmentation concerns.

There are many different kinds of facials. We would be happy to suggest the best one for you.
